Our Next Voyage
The horizon is calling. This year we are heading for Orkney and Shetland via the east coast of England and mainland Scotland. We are aiming to depart Ipswich at Easter weekend (April 4th). Weather permitting, we hope to reach Shetland by early June.
We hope to visit places that we have not been to before, and hopefully see plenty of wildlife en route. Holy Island is a must-see on the way.
After the sad passing of Chris' good friend Keith, at the end of 2025, Nell was going to be a crew member short. After publicising the journey on some crewing sites, we are pleased to say the role has been filled by family friend Sally, who has always wanted to visit Shetland.
You can keep up to date and follow our journey on our social media posts or via our blog.
A Vessel of Quiet Intent
Nell is a steady, heavy, and salty boat - a true trawler yacht. She was built to cruise, carrying a couple, with occasional guests, safely around the the waters of northern Europe. She has high bulwarks, wide decks, and a proper pilot house, giving a great view of the ocean ahead. She is not a fast boat -she burbles along at 7 to 9 knots, whilst providing a platform of privilege from which to see the world.
